Map2X - non-functional downloading of Google maps
Google changed some things on map server, which means that you cannot download new maps for Map2X.
First change is in format of map tiles' address. Parameter zoom= has changed to z=, so the map downloading utility can't download any tiles.
Second change is reversed zoom, now number 16 indicates the most detailed zoom and number 0 is most distant. First change doesn't matter, it suffices to change only a few characters in map2x-dl utility. But second problem affects the Map2X application, which would zoom wrong in new maps. Unfortunately I have wrecked up the application (many incomplete changes), so the problem will be solved in upcoming version. At this time I don't know when I will release it, there's still many work on it. Sorry for that.
The only positive thing in this article is, thanks to this change there will be functional support of satellite maps in the next version.
